TREES

SELECT YOUR PERFECT CHRISTMAS TREE

Anderson's Christmas Tree Farm spans over 80 acres with a large variety of species and sizes of tree to choose from. We plant over 4,000 new trees per year so you'll often notice us out in the front fields working hard to plant new saplings and cut back old scrub growth. The tree farm itself was originally established well over 30 years ago, so we have spent much of our 5 years working diligently to re-establish the crop in a way that will allow us to bring you the perfect Christmas trees for generations to come! Pick up a saw from us at the barn (or bring your own) and enjoy our complimentary wagon ride out to the best fields to find your perfect Christmas Tree!
We are a primarily "Cut Your Own" farm with a small selection of trees to buy off the lot. Whatever you need - we're happy to help, so please don't hesitate to ask! All trees are priced by species, not by height.

FRASER FIR

Fraser fir's are best known for their pleasant scent and yellow-green branches. They feature a conical shape with branches that angle slightly upward and are extra sturdy for heavy ornaments or garland. The leaves are needle-like and spiral along the trunk of the tree.

The balsam fir is a popular Christmas tree choice and well known for its conical shape and dense, dark-green leaves that are flat and needle-like. You might also notice some hints of shining silvery-white among the leaves, which makes them common for use in Christmas wreaths and bouquets. Balsams both look and smell good!

CONCOLOR FIR

SCOTCH PINE

$65

Also known as the scots pine, the scotch pine is a common Christmas tree option. Sturdy branches and dark green leaves provide a fantastic backdrop for lots of Christmas lights and decorations. These pines range from a blue-green to a darker green color and is also known for its long term needle retention--meaning less clean up after Christmas season ends.

WHITE PINE

$65

White pines have needles that grow in fascicles or bundles with bluish-green hues and pointed tips. The branches are flexible and do not generally give off the spicy Christmas aroma like some other varieties. This pine is not as good for heavy ornaments or large decorations because the branches aren't as strong. However, it looks great with smaller, lighter decorations!

BLUE SPRUCE

$65

The blue spruce, also known as the Colorado blue spruce, is beloved for its waxy gray-blue needles that tend to curve upward, making it easy to hook ornaments on. Blue spruces generally have dense foliage and is said to have "the perfect Christmas tree shape."

NEED ANY HELP SELECTING OR CARING FOR YOUR TREE?

Please feel free to ask us any questions about tree selection or care. We have helpful staff available all day long in and around the barn. In the meantime, here's some tips that will help you care for your tree and keep it looking beautiful all season long!

1. Start with a Fresh Tree

Fresh trees will last you longer, so test for needle retention by pulling down gently on any of the branches.

2. Find the Right Stand for Your Tree

Make sure you get a stand with a large enough water reservoir - at least 1 to 1.5 gallons. When in doubt, scale up in size.

3. Check Your Surroundings

Be sure to find a spot for your tree that isn't too close to a heat source, like space heaters, baseboard electric heaters, faulty wiring, or outlets. Check all outlets, lights, and extension cords for defects prior to use and be sure to turn any lights off if you are going to bed or leaving your home. Safety first!

4. Water Your Tree Immediately

As soon as you get your freshly cut Christmas tree home, place it into water as soon as possible! Tap water is just fine for Christmas trees - no need to add sugar, fertilizer, aspirin, corn syrup, or bleach.

5. Water Often, Water Daily

Be sure to check your stand every day to monitor water levels. The level of the water should not fall below the base of the tree. But be careful when pouring -- there may be water left in the stand, even if the trunk is not submerged.

6. Finally, Recycle

The best part about real Christmas trees is that they are 100% recyclable, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly! Most municipalities have recycling or curbside Christmas tree pick-up service, so call your local authorities for more info.
